Although A Christmas Story has only been around since the early 1980's, it still ranks up there with other Christmas classics as one of the best! Not only do I watch this during the holidays incessantly, but whenever I need a good laugh or pick me up, I pop this movie into the DVD player.
The storyline is brilliant, the acting is phenomenal and comedic, and the nostalgia in the film is remarkable.
This is a film for people of all ages, including most children. I've never found anything questionable to be in this movie. In fact, the first time I was introduced to it was when I was in public schooling....

This is of course my opinion but A Christmas Story is by far the best Christmas movie out there. I was never one for seasonal movies until five years ago when I was snowed in at an airport and left in a hotel room with only my carry on and the TV to keep me company. I was flipping through that channels and found this great movie on. After watching this movie it became and instant classic with me and that has trickled down to my kids.
Every year we watch it multiple times. Normally we have it on TV while we open presents and visit with the family. It has become the background to many Christmas...

As a grey haired man I can still remember the extreme anxiousness and joy of my Christmas seasons as a young boy and how those times were different.
This is an excellent movie based from the standpoint of a young pre-teen boy during the 40's or 50's. Life was different then and this movie has this portrayed in many ways. In that time we wore thick winter coveralls as children and they were very bulky. Calvin Kline did not make them. go buy a christmas story its a classic.. good for all ages, and funny movie. great for a laugh
I love this movie. It's one of those movies you just have to watch every Christmas. I just had to purchase it. My kids even like watching this movie. The Christmas story is a Family movie and is very funny. I think this movie should be in every one's collection. Best movie ever!!
a must see/own during the christmas season! brings back all the wonderful memories of my childhood, and then some!
