I bought the Android Archos, for my girlfriend. After seeing alot of the things that this small unit does. I turned around and bought one for myself. For the guy who bought and saids it's not worth it. If you read the 1 year warrenty correctly it states in the warranty that if you drop it. It's customer abuse. This is very ironic that you've only had for 3 days. Maybe if you wasn't clumsy then you'd still have the unit. Overall I love it and if I was to recommend it to anyone it worth it....
Did comparison between a Zune HD and an iPad. The iPad was overpriced in my opinion. Have older Zune's and experience is positive. However, when I was comparing the Zune and iPad I discovered the Archos 3.2 and felt it was the best buy for my teenager. I was so right. It is the best of the Zune and iPad combined. The price was the true seller. Additionally because of blue tooth it can also be used with a cell phone. The memory size is quite adequate. I have tried to "borrow" the Archos, but that is a big no no with my daughter. The apps that are available are a great selection. The operating system....Android...
read full review »I bought this for my 10 yr old for Christmas and he loves it (wanted an Ipod touch, but no way I was spending that kind of money on him). Does everything- music, games, books browsing, email- you name it and it is quick and easy to use. I found myself using it as much as he does!
Definately worth it. We have no problems with the touch screen, very compatible and there are lots of apps at appslib to download.
Alhthough it's little, this tablet packs a punch..It's affordable, user-friendly and has many capabilities. I have had mine about 8 months now and I use it when I'm at Mcdonald's-or anywhere that offers free wi-fi where you don't want to burden yourself down with a heavy laptop! My son loves the angry birds apps...I recommend this for users of any age and any techie level.
My son saved his money up to purchase this product. He was so excited to purchase his first android powered device. He took it home and it would not even turn on. OK, no problem. Called the tech people for Archos and they said there was a malfunction simply exchange it at the store. Did that. Great! Now he uses the second device for about 3 weeks. The touch screen stopped working and apps would no longer load or open. Had to take this one back as well. No problem with Sears. They were great about it all. This third one lasted almost 1 year. Thankfully, I purchased the protection plan with it. The...
read full review »I was looking for a tablet that could use WiFi and I came across this device. So I saved all my money for this device plus a little more, and it's great! The only thing I hate about it is that it doesn't have any speakers, you have to get headphones. But, I just got mine yesterday and need to do some more stuff.
The Archos 32 is an amazing bargain!
Wifi really has no issues connecting whenever I need it(like running Pandora while mowing on a half acre lawn), and the processor usually keeps up with whatever I need it to do.
I have a few issues with the screen with one single dead pixel (though I really can't find it once the device is done booting up, and two spots where the back light bleeds through. I'm sure I could send it back but I honestly don't care about those issues at all.
Typing on the screen was a bit of a chore at first, but after I downloaded the free w10 keyboard I haven't had any real issues...
read full review »I'll start by saying I REALLY wanted this unit to work out. I don't like mp3 players with proprietary software (IPod, Zune) and don't want my phone to be anything but a phone. The specs on this were great and it has a lot of potential.
First the good. I quickly got it running on my wireless network. Web browsing is not a great experience on such a small screen, but I knew that going in and didn't expect to use it for anything but quick movie time lookups and simple stuff. It's more than adequate for that. I did the software upgrade over the net next. It crashed the first time, but that is...
