“Overall; a good boot.”

I liked this boot so much that I have since purchased two more pair when they went on sale recently. They are surprisingly light and "breathe" well for a boot that laces up well past the ankle. I've had to replace the shoe laces once already which is no big deal, but the soles do wear rather rapidly.... read full review »

“Bates Men's Boot's”

My husband was very disappointed in these boot's, they look nice and feel good when he first put's them on, but after he wear's them a while they start rubbing his ankle bone, so he cant wear them very long at a time. He does have skinny ankle's so someone else might like them.

“These Men's Bates Boots Feel Great!”

This is the second pair of Bates boots I've bought for my husband. He is on his feet all day every day, 7 days a week. He is very hard on footwear and it took a year to wear out the first pair. He says they are super comfortable and took no time to break in. I opted for these this time around as they have a convenient side zip. Will buy again in a heartbeat, highly recommend!

“Bates ultra lites security friendly and comfortable.”

On my feet all day walking through water all day, feet stay dry and comfortable. Have tried other brands but by far the bates ultra lites seem to last longer and are much more comfortable. they are also security frindley I have to clear a metal detector every day and have no problem doing so with these boots, can't say the same about the other brands

“the bates tactical sport boot is tough and comfortable ”

on your feet all day, these are a great pair of lightweight, comfortable boots.  inseam zipper means quick and easy off and on.  zipper has a cover to keep it up and in place.  adjust with laces then zip in and out.  seem to be waterproofed well.  great for hiking, too.  great value.  glad we found Bates

“Comfortable enough for daily wear.”

I've been looking for an affordable work boot to wear on a daily basis. I have found the answer. I've been wearing these boots every day for almost 3 weeks. Light weight, comfortable, and affordable...my 3 favorite things about a shoe/boot.

“Bates Mens' ultra lites tactical sport boot”

Hubby bought this boot for very long work days outdoors in the very hot Sunshine State.  He says not only does his feet feel comfy after a long day, they also dont stink and sweat as bad.  Not a very pretty descriptor but he is a guy and those are his words.  Hubby also says they are truly light weight which is a plus after walking or standing on your feet all day.  He highly recommends!!

“Bates are great”

I bought these boots because they are exactly what the city fire dept buys for us and my feet love them. I live in these boots. They are feather light and durable. I can wear them for 20 hours straight. If you have never worn side zip boots, don't be afraid. They go on and off easily and quickly yet look like a regular front tie boot.

“Bates Ultra-lite Tactical Boots”

The Bates Ultra-lite Tactical Boot is an excellant boot. Super lite. Very Comfortable. The zipper on the medial side of the boot slides with ease, and the velcro safety strap hold consistantly. The boots were a little stiff at first, but broke in quickly. They are very durable in all situations. In my line a work there is a lot of squatting with patients. Other boots I have purchased in the past, have split in these situations. The Bates boots are still holding strong. The boots breath well, and your feet won't get over-heated. “Great boots”

Love these boots. They are almost as the military Jungle Boots, once you break them in. I would definitely recommend and re-purchase this boot.

“Ultra Lites”

Excellent boots. Very light. I work in a factory with lots of oil and water plus chemicals on the floor. I have purchased more expensive boots that have only lasted 6-8 months. So far these seem to be holding up as well or better. There is a little breaking in needed but so have almost every boot I have purchased. Careful when first using in oil and water, they will slip. It seems as if after getting them in oil for the first time they grip a little better.

“Well Made!”

Ordered online. Free shipping, and 20% off discount, how could you go wrong. So I decided to buy 2 pair. Delivered within a few days just as described, with no problems. Opened box and wore them the next day, and I wish I purchased 3 pair. Sizes were on the money and I am very satified.

“Very comfortable boot”

I have had these boots for almost a year now. From the start they were very comfortable. So far they have shown very little signs of wear.  I do give the leather on them a good shine about once a week.  The side zipper makes them easy to get into and out of most of the time, but real heavy or damp/wet socks can make that difficult and its back to the laces.

On part of this boot that I particularly like is that they are electrically neutral.  I play with metal detectors quite a bit, and having nothing electrically contuctive in the boot is quite an advantage, as the detector is not constantly...
